Project Charter
What is it?
A project charter is a short document that outlines important components of your QI project.
Why use it?
A project charter provides a summary of what you plan to improve, how you plan to improve it and how you plan to measure your improvements. It can be used to communicate your aims and plans with those within and beyond your improvement team.
A project charter can help to ensure that you and your project team are considering important aspects of a project, including measurement.
A project charter can provide an opportunity to ensure that the project team have a shared understanding of the project’s aims, change ideas and measurement plans.
How to use it?
It is recommended that you complete your charter after some initial planning tasks have been undertaken that allow you to understand your own context for change. It should be completed collaboratively with your project team.
