Oncology Quality Management Programme

The Oncology Quality Management Programme is based in the Edinburgh Cancer Centre and is using the outpatient lung systemic anti cancer therapy (SACT) pathway as a test bed to identify improvements that can implemented throughout the Edinburgh Cancer Centre and the wider NHS.
Its overarching aim is to improve the quality of care experienced by persons during their cancer treatment . To achieve this aim we are working to ensure patients continue to receive timely access to chemo therapy with improved patient experience in ECC.
The programme is now developing key data metrics to ensure that improvement work is correctly targeted while also working with clinical staff to identify key improvement priorities. Key to the success of the programme will be evidence of systemic learning from the projects undertaken, no matter how small or large.
